You must have the JAVA Edition of Minecraft. The Windows 10 Edition does not work with mods! https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/get-minecraft/Current modpack: Sevtech Ages
SevTech: Ages is a massive modpack packed with content and progression. This pack focuses on providing the player a long term progression experience with purpose. SevTech introduces a number of mechanics never before done such as: hiding ore until unlocked, dynamically hidden items and recipes based on progress, new mobs appear as you progress further, and much more! The modpack uses the vanilla advancement system to guide the player along while still allowing an open, sandbox experience. As you progress through the hundreds of custom advancements you will unlock new “ages” which will show you new mods to work through.
Current modpack version: 3.20 1.12.2Modpack download URL make sure you download the version referenced above!: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/sevtech-ages/files

The easiest way to run a modded Minecraft client is to use a Minecraft launcher. One of the most popular Minecraft launchers is MultiMC:
https://multimc.org/
Once MultiMC is installed, it is recommended to set the java maximum memory allocation to 4GB at a minimum in MultiMC settings. 8GB or more is preferred, especially when using high resolution resource packs. The main location for the most popular Minecraft modpacks is CurseForge:

Once the desired modpack page on curseforge has been loaded, go to the files section and download the latest version of the modpack in zip format.
Inside of MultiMC, click the Add Instance button and import the download modpack zip.Optional components

The Texture pack can be ran with most graphics cards although you may need to tweak for fps. First time loading of this pack into the game via options resource packs may take 5+ minutes, there is no status bar.
To install a downloaded texture pack, select the Minecraft instance in MultiMC and select instance folder. In the minecraft folder inside the instance, create a folder called resourcepacks if it does not already exist. Place the downloaded texture pack zip into the resourcepacks folder.
